What the ISO Process did for Us
Early in 1995, Roy Haggerty, Ajilon’s President and CEO, challenged all Ajilon employees to become the first IT consulting firm in the United States to earn ISO 9001:1994 certification, utilizing the services of DNV Certification as the registrar. Rising to the challenge, Ajilon received certification on June 30, 1995. Ajilon employees understood early on the key benefits of earning ISO certification, including:
· Standardization of our processes, which allowed us to manage rapid growth.
· Commitment and dedication from our senior management team to help us succeed at every level in the company.
· Enhancing our ability to meet client requirements by better focusing on client’s needs.
· Training programs dedicated to ensuring our employees' growth and development which also contribute to the company's growth and development.
As we transitioned to the newer ISO 9001:2000 certification, we noted new advantages of the focus on client satisfaction and continual improvements, including:
· Utilizing tools that measure and trend client satisfaction levels, which revealed that 98% of our clients rated our services as “Excellent” and 100% of our surveyed clients said they will continue to use our services. We continue to use client survey data as a valuable tool for possible continual improvement ideas.
· Discovering continual improvement initiatives that help us deliver a consistently high level of service, year after year. We routinely measure and report to senior management each department’s continual improvements and the recognized benefits.
· Realizing that our top ten clients have consistently utilized our services for over 10 years and that 99% of them would recommend us to others.
· Finding that our measurements of billing error rates, a key measurement in the services market, received a world class rating by a national accounting firm using industry standards. The firm rated our error rate among the lowest in our industry.
Over the years, Ajilon’s commitment to quality shows up in everything we do and especially in our relationship with our clients. In September 2005, Ajilon was re-awarded the Ford Q1 flag and plaque, allowing us to continue as a preferred vendor and partner with the Ford Motor Company on their quality and continuous improvement initiatives. Steve Claggett, President and COO of Ajilon Consulting U.S., stated, “Our Q1 status with the Ford Company complements our own quality system based on ISO 9001: 2000 standards.”
Our Partnership with DNV
An important milestone on our quality journey was choosing DNV as the certifying registrar for our quality system, beginning with the ISO 9001: 1994 standard. Throughout our successful ten year partnership with DNV, we have built a solid relationship with Lead Auditor Michael Monaghan that has helped to grow our quality system and transition over to the new ISO 9001:2000 edition.
During the course of semi-annual audits, DNV has added value to our quality system and helped us mature over time. In our most recent audit report, Monaghan stated, “Ajilon’s Continuous Improvement program is an excellent example of how a committed organization works to achieve excellence in all aspects of its business. It is also a great source of preventive actions.”
